About the Artist

"A picture is of someone, a portrait is about someone."

That philosophy describes Steve Meier's approach to the art of photographing people. Whether by capturing a natural expression or revealing a part of the subject's personality, the goal of every portrait created by Steve is to say something about the person at this time in their life.

Having loved photography since childhood, Steve decided to pursue portrait photography as a career after graduation from the New England School of Photography in 1997. He opened the Pembroke, MA studio in 1999, and has become known for his relaxed, spontaneous approach to portraiture.

Steve prides himself on getting to know his clients personally, and often recommends a pre-portrait consultation, to discuss and plan your portrait.
